I am running for town council because I believe that this valley is one of the very best places in the world to live, play and raise a family. Because of our natural surroundings living and playing here is very easy, but jobs and new opportunities are getting scarce and our ability to effectively provide for our families is decreasing as we struggle to recognize and connect with our primary economic driver.
As a member of council I believe in connection. We need to connect our beautiful lake to our town and work cooperatively to ensure we have a balanced approach between preservation and recreation. We need to connect our wild spaces to our town; our trail systems, our back country, our ski resorts and maintain that same balance between preservation, responsible use and economic sustainability. We need to connect with our regional partners and resort communities to develop an effective marketing strategy to attract more visitors and grease the wheels of our primary economic driver. This will create more jobs and opportunities to retain our brightest and best youth and to attract new families to enjoy the same high quality of life that drew all of us here in the first place.
With a robust economic driver couples with a town council that promotes creativity and a business friendly environment we can attract new, less seasonally driven industries. We will have the funds necessary for upgrades and improvements to our existing infrastructure and utilize the very best, cleanest new innovative technologies moving forward. Most importantly we will have the funds necessary for a major cultural reinvestment to increase the arts, recreation and athletics in our region. Advocating a major investment in culture and athletics is a direct investment in the very quality of life in our community and develops strong, vibrant, creative youth which in turn will ensure a vibrant, sustainable and well rounded community for the future.
